I start a new job next week as a Walmart cashier. Do you have any advice?

I'm not to thrilled to be working at Walmart especially as a cashier, but it's the only job so far that has offered me employment. Can you give me any advice? How long do I have to be a cashier before I can transfer to another department? I hate being a cashier.I start a new job next week as a Walmart cashier. Do you have any advice?
Unfortunately there is no guarantee as to you being transferred into another department because that's the job you signed up for. What you could do to help though is be an honest and hardworking individual. For the most part, managers love to see dedicated and hardworking employees. I know you hate but please don't let it show.

It's important that you make yourself available for extra work, work in a timely manner, provide some damn good customer service, show them you can pay attention to detail and that will help them to see you as somewhat of an asset to them to make them want to move you into a better position.

Good luck!I start a new job next week as a Walmart cashier. Do you have any advice?
I am a cashier at walmart and i love it. I really like meeting new people and usually we have a ton of fun goofing around. i really dont know how long you have to be there before you can transfer departments but its not very long because we had some new cashiers that transfered to automotive within weeks of starting. so you wont have to stay there very long just talk to your boss
you can make any job fun by being personable with the people you meet. i worked as a cashier at a coffee shop and it was so much fun because of all the different people i'd meet, things i'd learn...just have fun and make the best of it. ask people questions. give compliments (appropriate ones) and try to make people smile. you'll have a blast and you'll feel better at the end of the day knowing you might have turned someone else's around :)
I want to commend you for taking the job offerred even though it is not your ideal. Too many people hold out for ';the right job';. That will come as you allow it. In addition, as I personally feel that Wal-Mart is a horrible place for anyone to work and has abysmal business ethics, I wanted to share the following.

I would love to share with you what I do from home but I believe it is against the rules for me to post a link or mention the business here.

I help people achieve there goals in areas of health and finances with the hope that those lead to overall personal wellness. The company has been in business and growing for more than 20 years and as such does not actually even require computer access. It was inducted into the Better Business Bureau Hall of Fame in 2005.

Feel free to contact me if this feels right to you. I hope that I have not offended you.

Best of Luck with Everything
Take a copy of your time sheet before you turn it in. Maybe you could use a digital camera.

Rent the movie ';Walmart, the High Cost of Low Price';. I watched it on my cable system ';on demand';
Just don't take anything personal from customers.

Don't stand out as an exceptional cashier and constantly attempt to transfer.
u need to stay there for maybe 3-6 months if its ur first job or just if you want to transfer for a bank cashiering isn't so fun but a job is a job
sabotage.
just work really quick and show u like it and ***** and ***** and ***** till u get moved
Your a braver man than i. I hate the cashier spot.

I have purchased land 30 acres i would like to start poultry farm can you advice where to get chicks?

buildings are thereI have purchased land 30 acres i would like to start poultry farm can you advice where to get chicks?
Talk to the local Farm Bureau; you'll have a lot of questions they might help with.,I have purchased land 30 acres i would like to start poultry farm can you advice where to get chicks?
try hanging out at a dive bar.
If you live in the USA try Murray McMurray Hatchery located in Webster City,Iowa. They are a big supplier to the public and many grain stores get there birds from them. They ship chicks via the Post Office. the web site is www.mcmurrayhatchery.com
Try the link below. They have about anything you can imagine as far as poultry.

    http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/
    got to Homesteading.com

or go to Google and type in

    homesteading for a web search.

Many of those sites have links for ordering farm animals and such.

Also check with the local office of the Agricultural Extension Agency or a local 4-H group.
Around my area, we have two farm %26amp; garden shops, but you'll have to check in your area to see if any exists. Chicks will definately be sold there.

If no store, and you can't travel to get them, then I suggest a flea market. People sell them cheap, and in bunches. The thing is, before you buy, check them out to make sure they are healthy, and question the owner about their living conditions.

    I hope I helped! =]
Find a local night club. Now that you are a landowner they'll flock to you. lol

Check with the local Farm Services office or extension service.
Most Farm and Feed supply stores have them.
Call your County Extension Office. Part of the Extension Agent's job is to advise farmers and ranchers on all facets of the operations.

Do you plan to grow them for meat? We grew some years ago for our own use. They were White Cornish Rock's I believe and went from day old hatchlings to full grown birds in 5-7 weeks.

Be prepared! They grow fast but if you are trying to make money on them that is what you want because you do not need to feed them very long.

You really need to do some research. The egg laying varieties are different from the meat birds. We live in New Mexico and ordered ours from a producer in Pennsylvania and got exactly what we were looking for at a good price. I don't recall the breeder as it was years ago, but if you are going to be successful you really need to read all you can and take advantage of your Extension Service resources.

Best Wishes for a successful operation!

What do you think of this dating advice?

You should always wait for a guy to contact you first (in the early stages of dating obviously.) If he's interested he will make sure to contact you. If he's not, he won't, and you will keep your dignity by not contacting him and being blown off.

It seems to make sense, but maybe guys need a bit of encouragement too and a girl contacting a guy first isn't a big deal? I'm confused! What do you all think? What do you think of this dating advice?
i contacted my guy first and it was the best thing that i have ever done in my life. We've been together for over 2 years now.

    and besides, my dignity is not just about being blown off by a guy. Dignity is a big word, much bigger than ';he likes me he likes me not';

go for it, if he says he deosn't like you then give yourself a 10 minutes pity party then move on, life has got so much more to offer. What do you think of this dating advice?
silly crap piece of advice - u 're smart enough to figure out yourself that guys too need encouragement sometimes

besides, if you're totally blown away by a guy - why not follow him and atleast try to hint at him that you're interested? if he's that attractive that he's caught your attention - maybe other girls will seek him out first while you're still waiting for him to text or call you (reality may be he hasn't even noticed you!) so go ahead, nothing wrong for the girl to make the first move
There's no dignity in sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring.
    go to

www.practicalhappiness.com for great advice on dating etc.
first time let him call you then after that text/call all you want first... not being first tests him to See kinda what he will do for you like is he willing to go After you
I think thats bull. If you like someone, go for it. It shouldn't matter if your male or female.
    bah.. throw yourself at him..
    okkkkkkkkkkkk
    it it preety good

I have my car practical test next week. So can you please give me some advice and what to expect in the test.?

I just wanted some good advice about car practical test and what to expect etc. What i need to know in order to pass? So anything helpful. Please feel free to share your own practical test experience.

Thanks.I have my car practical test next week. So can you please give me some advice and what to expect in the test.?
You need to know how to parallel park, make a U turn, drive in traffic and change lanes safely, turn around by stopping and backing across the other lane in a narrow street. Don't forget to signal all turns, turn slightly and look back over your shoulder when backing up or pulling out into traffic.

    And most importantly........relax !

GOOD LUCK !I have my car practical test next week. So can you please give me some advice and what to expect in the test.?
    Hi!

Your use of the phrase ';car practical'; makes me think you're in the UK. I'm in the US.

If your tests are anything like ours, you basically go into the office and register and wait. A driving tester with a clip board will meet you and go with you to your car.

Be prepared for any personality type. Some are really nice and try to put you at ease; others are aloof, and others seem like no amount of coffee will stop them from being grouchy.

Don't be intimidate by any of them. Their job is just to ask you to do certain maneuvers, to observe you, and to be honest in their assessment as THEY observed it.

When you get into the car, they might ask you to identify different parts of the car: air conditioner, turn indicator, etc. They want to know that you can find these functions while driving, without fumbling around to find them.

They'll start observing what you do from the start: Do you put on your seatbelt? Do you put your foot on the brake before you start the car?

Then, they'll ask you to demonstrate different driving maneuvers: pull out of the driveway; turn left/right; drive in reverse; park the car, etc.

Did you signal? Did you check the mirror and then turn your head to view traffic? Did you come to a complete stop at a Stop sign?

At the conclusion, they'll tell you if you passed or not. Some may give you helpful feedback, some won't. Some are more diplomatic than others in how they give it.

    Some suggestions:

    1. A couple of days before the test, go to the neighborhood where your practical test will like be and drive around. Become familiar with the neighborhood, street layout, tricky spots, etc.

    2. It's normal to be nervous. That's ok. Just focus on your driving and on safety, not on the tester. As the driver, you're in charge of your car. Think: What do I need to do to carry out the maneuver? How do I do it in the safest way? The final result will speak for itself.

    Good luck!

Can you be held liable for offering advice/answering questions on this site?

For instance if you are a nurse and you answer a question posed by a person looking for information and you tell them what you think they have, you are not licensed to do so, could a state board consider that practicing outside your license.

Or if you are a pharmacy technician and someone says can I take this with this. A patient should seek counsel from the pharmacist. But a pharmacy technician probably knows and may answer, could they be reprimanded by their state board of pharmacy. Can you be held liable for offering advice/answering questions on this site?
actually, yahoo terms of service specifically says that you use this with no liability, or guarantees. You have the responsibility to know that this is NOT a professional site and the answers are ';at your own risk';.

Professionals also are supposed to know limitations on ';telling someone what to do';. On the other hand.. anyone here including a technician, could provide a link to a website.

You normally are resposnsible for knowing the limit of ANY info that is on the internet. Can you be held liable for offering advice/answering questions on this site?
Nope. And just how would anyone on this site know who you are and what you are qualified as anyway? It isn't like you are posting your credentials up here (that would be a very bad idea). And people should know that on this site, they should take all the advice that they receive with a grain of salt. It is just a starting place...where you can get some ideas of what the possibilities are...and then you get proper advice from a professional who's credentials you can verify.

And if you do wish to extend advice and not get busted for it by your respective board, just go to a coffee shop where you pay for ten minute intervals on the net with nice anonymous dollar bills. And that way, as long as you don't give out any identifying details, you are completely anonymous and are unable to be reprimanded! Good luck!
No. It would be one individual asking another for their opinion only. Nothing in that can be construed as medical advice because no payment changed hands, and no proof of license or qualification was requested or shown.

Anyone online can claim to be a doctor or pharmacist. If you choose to believe them, then you assume the risk of following what they say.
no-its their responsibility to use advice or not--they could be talkin to a 2 yr old-if they choose to use it -its free personal choice-this is a your opinion site open to anyone-

tattoo sites are not liable for anything either-
questions and answers at any time are deletable without notice(tos),yahoo agrees to post advertising squares in return for fees.

    ,interlocutorum emptor
Nope. You're not making them follow your advice and you're not accepting payment for it.
