A few months ago, I hyper extended my knee twice. Since then it seems that I've had a weak knee. I can't run as much, or play badminton with my grandpa for long periods of time. If I do these things then my knee starts to ache excessively and hurts for another few hours.
So my questions are:
Should I see a doctor to see if there ligament damage, or if I need some sort of treatment. Or can I simply find some way to treat it at home without too much trouble?Could you give me advice for my knee problem?
hey fella, I fear it might be torn tendon(pattellar tendon or cruciate ligament).
get urself checked from doctor for the best. get well soonCould you give me advice for my knee problem?
Absolutely you should seek assistance from an MD, moreover from an Ortho specialist. You may need to get an MRI to see what exactly is going on in there. You may just have not let it heal completely yet. Simply taking Motrin and alternating between heat and ice packs would probably relieve a lot of the discomfort. Again, make a Doctors appointment.
My daughter had a knee injury and I took her to an orthopedic doctor , it wasn't a great deal of help because she waited 2 months before she sent her for an MRI, withtout that doctors are not very intuitive at all and basically guess at what you might have . From my experiences doctors think there is a time period in which things should heal. I think knee injurys take way longer than doctors think they should. My daughter's knee seems to be getting better a bit after 4 months. I believe she had a meniscus injury from what I learned-
I would ice it if I were you 15 minutes on 15 minutes off and elevate it, if you feel you need a knee compression elastic you can get one at the pharmacy, you might give that a try - it might help. YOu can also try a castor oil wrap. Get some castor oil at the the health food store or pharmacy, heat it in a small bowl in the microwave for only a few seconds until very warm,, after it's warm put a flannel cloth in the warm oil and wrap it around your knee-and put a large pastic baggie on top of that the warm oil will heal your knee. It does work we did that remedy. A doctor might help but might also do nothing and you it's an injury that needs to heal, and healing takes time.
