the last time i did one, i only made about 拢20 pounds, never mind 拢5 in petrol. and 拢5 to park.
even though i usually sell really good stuff! with tables packed full of things. other sales tend to do far better than me.
does anyone have any good tips, like bringing music and selling cakes that i can use?
thanks!Do you have any good advice for having a car boot sale?
Start your prices off slightly higher than what you want/expect - that way if people push you down you still get a good deal/get what you want. If people just pay you get more.
Don't go too low and sound confident when bargaining with people
Make sure people can see all that you are selling and price things so that people won't have to keep asking
Be friendly and let people think they are getting a good idea - if they ask about an item be honest and tell them as much as you can.
Don't have music - it is bound to annoy some people. Everyone has a different taste in music. I wouldn't sell cakes - while some people may buy them a lot of people will ignore them. After all, they don't know how professionally they've been done and exactly what they contain. Best to avoid selling food and drinkDo you have any good advice for having a car boot sale?
DON'T bring music, there is nothing more irritating than having to listen to someones elses idea of good music!!! Put all the good stuff at the front and make sure the people can reach the table without having to step over stuff. At the end of the day, you can only sell what people want to buy, don't yell and scream at people to come and have a look either, it puts people off and they will steer clear of you. Being cheerful and friendly is a big help.
