Retired People: what advice would you give to other who are planning to retire?

What makes for a successful retirement? What should be the planning steps? What are the pitfalls to retirement? What are the positive aspects. If you are retired how do you spend your time?Retired People: what advice would you give to other who are planning to retire?
you have to, have to, have to keep on living after retirement. Too many people stop working and stay home and within just a few years, die.

if possible, plan a few years before you actually retire. have several plans.

definitely keep moving.

if you're financially secure, plan to do community/charity work. there's programmes like seniors for seniors (newly retired people caring for the elderly and infirmed). There's projects at the local library, helping out at the hospitals...

But if you need to keep working, I know of plenty of people who are retired and driving cabs, working for city parks, theaters.

Then there's community activities...drama clubs, tours, cruises, holidaying, political drives.

If you've been well respected in the community, you could run for office, I think...there's no age limit there right?

Now that you don't really have to work, you can finally pursue your passions. These should be the best years of your life.Retired People: what advice would you give to other who are planning to retire?
Make sure u got a big fat account to live by and plenty of thing to do to past the day, such would be hobbies...
Must make planning in advance what business or profession to do after retirement so that he does not become idle. He should try to learn that before retirement. Half the retired life is reduced if a retired person does not remain busy as in the working life. some are finished even much earlier, as they become the prey of depression due to the reason, nobody has time to waste with them.

Non-working people don't command respect even from their own family.
