Hi! I'll be in a short visit to London next week.
1) What national food should I definitely try?
2) Please advice me nice cafes or restaurants in London, not very expensive and not very cheap.
Thank you! What national food in London you would advice me to try?
I would recommend having afternoon tea at one of London's top hotels like Browns or The Dorchester. It is quite expensive but it's perfect for a one-off treat because it's a real British tradition.

(You won't need much for dinner on the day you have tea because it includes sandwiches, pots of tea (and Champagne if you want it), warm scones with jam and clotted cream, and usually other pastries and cakes.)
There are far too many nice cafes and restaurants to mention - London is a huge place with all kinds of cuisines on offer! You could look at websites like www.toptable.com or www.london-eating.co.uk for some ideas, or buy a copy of TimeOut's Eating %26amp; Drinking guide.

i think you need to refine your question, London is a vast area with uncountable eateries.
and you did say 'nice restaurant' so i wouldn't advise chippy's.
curry!
fish and chips!
baked potatoes!
apples and bannanas!
lol just kidding
try chicken tikka its nice and spicy
get a chippy ! :D
proper english , and really not expensive, there are chippys EVERYWHERE.
they have lots of great places to eat in the west end. Including Chippies!!!
